"Freedom Cometh by struggle". This is in resent time the expression most students of the University of Nigeria Nsukka make use of. Owing to the victorious emergence of the Students Union led by Comr. Ezeja Joshua, the past couple of weeks on the Shuttle saga, students have more reasons to believe in the current SUG administration.
Following the resolutions made at the meeting with the Student Union Government and the shuttle drivers union, today 25/12/16, 12 noon, the strike by the shuttle men have been called off and business have commenced for them immediately, the outcome of the meeting was in favour of the Great Nigerian Students who maintained that the shuttle (cab) will only convey 4 passengers at a time i.e 1 passenger in front and 3 behind at
N50 each against the 2 in front and 4 behind scheme.
The strike which lasted 4 days was the third strike by the shuttle union in 2 yrs, had students on their toes and their fingers crossed as they hoped for favourable solutions. before the calling off of the strike, some students have aired their views and suggestions made to the student union government. It is believed that the implementation of these suggestions and dogged character of the leaders, brought them victory.
it is hoped that the students union will in sustenance of the very great deed hel Nigerian students fight other unacceptable impositions and intimidation on them.
