JB's NUGGET: 4 ONLINE PLATFORMS FOR ANY CAREER STUDENT

Even though it is a known fact that the internet is has a very long history (1960s) and is not a really new development, we can as well agree to the fact that, the social media in the last one decade has made the internet space more useful.
With the emergence of smartphones, notebook PC, fast and lest sophisticated internet connections this reality of useful of the internet is more profound. 

With Facebook which of course the leading platform in the social media space founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, we have since seen the emergency of various other social media platforms notably; Six Degree(1997), LinkedIn(2003), Facebook(2004), Twitter(2006), Instagram(2010), MySpace(2005), Skype(2003) Google+ (2011). All these as well contribute more efficiently to the comfortable use of the internet.

Now for a career Student, there are definitely certain platforms that are very keen in your career life.
Note there are other online platforms for entertainment/Showbiz careers not listed here. There is another dedicated post on STUDENTS & SHOW BIZ yet to come on JBs Nugget, stay posted for that.
So here is our list for this particular topic;

4. Facebook
I will say this, first there is no way you want to discuss any topic that pertains to Social Media and not include Facebook. Again Facebook is the God  of social media. (no jokes ...if you want to argue, slide into my DM) .  So why should a career Student be on Facebook.  Simple; Everyone, every is on Facebook. When I mean everyone I mean every institution, school, personality, group, that has a place on the internet space has a Facebook account. You want to be seen easily, you want to find companies and monitor their activities you have to go through Facebook. But I will say this "most official discussions are not done on the Facebook platform". Stay with us and you will understand that last statement.

3. Twitter
Well, in your career, which ever field you find yourself, there is need to be up to date on happenings around the world especially your immediate environment, to know how they affect your business, and the policies of your company.  Let it be known that I, JB refer to twitter as the e-Newspaper.  This social media platform is very important for those you no not really find the time to pick up the dailies at vendors. They can be rest assured that the top trending news, policies, Government pronouncements and all that affect every sphere of life is capture once they are online. Note that Government and Institution make official announcements on twitter and twitter is the official social media platform for organizations

Research Gate Simply Put is a platform for academic, publication, connection and recognition.  Research Gate is not a really a social Media it is a place where researchers, and writers go to discuss. where studies, theories, and propositions are in their abundance.

1. LinkedIn
This one is my personal favorite and as well the first on our list. Simply put; think career think LinkedIn. think opportunities both in Nigeria and abroad, think LinkedIn. think Companies, think LinkedIn. Let's leave it at that.
