This is to notify every member of the university
community of some temporary shutdown of the Lionet service around the
University community.
This statement from the University community was
made necessary owning to an ongoing Fibre upgrade by the service provider MTN
Nigeria.
users will however experience;
-Slow internet connectivity
-Fluctuation being experienced for some time
The upgrade which is at an advanced stage has
affected the amount of bandwidth (data) currently being supplied to the
University.
On this note, the Lionet service will be
temporarily unavailable from 4pm on Friday 9th June, 2017 and
Midnight on Sunday 11th June, 2017 to enable the MTN team conclude
the maintenance/upgrade.
We sincerely regret any inconveniences this will
cause you and promise to restore the network as soon as possible.

Since God knows when, I've not benefited anything from the so-called lionet abi Wi-Fi. I can say the same for thousands of fellow students. I hope they were able to do something this time. In most rooms, MTN, Glo, Airtel, Lionet and other networks. Tell me how we can source for materials and info on the net. I'll suffer and go to PAA or MI's yet no show. People's #8000 & #12k gone for nothing. This is not fair. The University Administration should behave like the educated and trustworthy people they are supposed to be and remember that they were once like us and also, that they are here for us not for themselves. The students' welfare should be their priority not just their pockets.
